Description

Suture, Pliabilized, Mono, Blk, 3/0, 18, PC-5, is a nonabsorbable sterile surgical suture composed of polyamide 6 (nylon), a long-chain aliphatic polymer. It is designed for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, particularly where extended tensile strength is required.

The suture is dyed black to enhance visibility in the surgical field, facilitating precise handling and placement. It maintains uniform diameter and flexibility, contributing to excellent knot security and ease of manipulation. The PC-5 needle is a 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle, ideal for precise skin closure and fine tissue approximation.

ETHILON™ elicits a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissue. As a nonabsorbable suture, it remains in place unless removed, with encapsulation occurring very slowly—typically over one to two years. This makes it well-suited for use in external skin closures, microsurgery, and ophthalmic procedures.
