The PDS™ Plus Antibacterial Violet Monofilament (Polydioxanone) Absorbable Surgical Suture, 1-27", CT-1 is a synthetic, monofilament suture designed to provide extended wound support with antimicrobial protection. It is composed of polydioxanone and coated with triclosan, an antibacterial agent that helps inhibit bacterial colonization on the suture surface. The violet color enhances visibility during surgical procedures, aiding in accurate placement and control.

This suture retains approximately 80% of its original tensile strength at two weeks, 70% at four weeks, and 60% at six weeks. Complete mass absorption occurs via hydrolysis between 183 to 238 days. These properties make it suitable for soft tissue approximation in areas where long-term support is necessary without prolonged foreign body presence.

The CT-1 needle is a 1/2 circle taper point needle, ideal for general soft tissue use. Its design allows for smooth penetration with minimal trauma, particularly in deeper or delicate tissues. The monofilament structure reduces tissue drag and lowers the risk of bacterial adherence.
