PDS™ Antibacterial Violet Monofilament (Polydioxanone) Absorbable Surgical Suture, 5-0, 30", CC-1 is a synthetic monofilament suture designed to provide extended wound support while actively reducing the risk of bacterial colonization. It is composed of polydioxanone, a polymer that ensures prolonged tensile strength and gradual hydrolytic absorption.

The antibacterial properties of the suture are derived from triclosan, an antimicrobial agent integrated into the suture coating. This additive inhibits colonization by common surgical site infection pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, as well as MRSA and MRSE. The antimicrobial zone of inhibition extends protection along the suture line, offering an additional layer of defense.

The CC-1 needle is a precision-cutting needle suited for soft tissue closure. The suture’s monofilament structure minimizes tissue drag and inflammation, making it ideal for general, gynecologic, urologic, and orthopedic soft tissue approximation and ligation.
