Description
Surgical Suture Polypropylene 3-0, 18" Thread With 19 mm 3/8 Reverse Cut Blue is a synthetic, nonabsorbable monofilament suture made from a high-purity stereoisomer of polypropylene. It is designed for permanent tissue approximation and is widely used in both internal and external wound closures where long-term tensile strength and biocompatibility are essential.
The monofilament configuration allows for a smooth surface that minimizes tissue drag and reduces trauma during insertion. Polypropylene is chemically inert, resulting in minimal tissue reactivity and making it suitable for use in patients with sensitivities or for procedures requiring reduced inflammatory response.
The suture is equipped with a 19 mm reverse cutting needle featuring a 3/8 circle curvature. Constructed from stainless steel, the needle includes a cutting edge along its outer curve to allow penetration through dense or keratinized tissues, such as skin. This design enables precise placement and efficient closure in both superficial and deeper surgical layers.
