Description

Dextrose 10% IV Injection Solution is a sterile, nonpyrogenic solution used for intravenous administration to provide a source of carbohydrates. Each 250 mL bag contains 10% dextrose (D-glucose monohydrate) in water for injection. It is formulated to restore blood glucose levels in patients with hypoglycemia and to provide caloric supplementation when oral intake is insufficient.

This solution is supplied in the Excel® flexible plastic bag, which is a non-PVC, non-DEHP, and latex-free container designed to minimize leachables and ensure patient safety. The flexible bag allows for easy handling, storage, and administration, reducing the risk of contamination. It features an overwrap to maintain sterility and stability until use. The bag is compatible with standard IV administration sets.

Dextrose 10% injection is indicated for the treatment of hypoglycemia, dehydration, and as a source of calories in parenteral nutrition. It is commonly used in hospitals, emergency settings, and intensive care units.
